Dashboard Quick-Lock Redesign

I was part of the Citi Dashboard redesign team, which aimed to enhance efficiency, improve discoverability, and boost digital engagement. Quick Lock is one of the many features I designed to improve the customer experience and align with the business objectives.

The Problem

Customers face multiple challenges when trying to lock or unlock their cards. The lock/unlock feature is difficult to locate due to complex navigation and poor placement. Visual cues are lacking, making it hard for users to determine whether their card is locked or unlocked. Additionally, users often receive ambiguous feedback after performing actions, leading to uncertainty about whether their request was successful. These issues result in a frustrating user experience, leading to decreased trust in the bank’s digital services and potentially causing customers to avoid using the feature altogether, which can affect their financial security.

Competitive Analysis

Competitive Analysis

I performed a competitive analysis of the lock/unlock feature by evaluating various banking websites and apps. This assessment focused on usability, visual design, and feedback mechanisms, allowing us to identify best practices and gaps in our implementation. The findings provided actionable insights for enhancing our feature to better serve users.


User Flow Redesign

Leverage the Action tile to prominently feature the Quick-lock option, reducing the number of clicks needed to access it.

The modal provides users with comprehensive guidance and support, serving as a centralized location for managing all their card lock and unlock actions.

Implemented an account lock state with a banner notification to deliver clear feedback following lock/unlock actions.
